Having moved into the world of motorhomes with Mercedes-based A-classes and low-profiles over the past few years, Coachman launched the two-strong Avventura range in February this year, this time based on a Fiat Ducato but still geared very much towards the luxury end of the market.

On the outside, the new vehicle, which we shortlisted for the best motorhome with fixed single beds at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2026, looks very similar to the existing Sportivo models, with a bowed roof that improves headroom inside.

Coachman is now owned by Swedish company Kabe, so you get higher than usual standards of heating and insulation – not just Alde heating and heated fresh and waste water tanks, for example, but also heating convectors inside the doorstep, handy if you’re a fan of winter motorhoming.

Cab and lounge in the Coachman Avventura 565

You get a standard Fiat cab, although having high-speed automatic transmission as standard pushes things up a notch. The 10-inch touchscreen fronts an infotainment system that includes a DAB radio and sat nav.

There are quite a few steps in this nearly 8m-long motorhome. The first of them is down from the cab to the front lounge, which includes two parallel settees that double-up as travel seats. Fortunately, they are Aguti seats, which fold away completely separately from the structure of the settees, so there is no compromise on comfort.

This lounge is well lit with the large sunroof and Heki, but also thanks to a large LED in the ceiling and two adjustable spotlights, both with USBs. There are two more such spotlights next to the cab seats, so nighttime reading should be easy here. There’s a TV bracket to the right of the door, too, where you can put one of the best 12v motorhome TVs.

For such a luxury motorhome, however, it is surprising to discover that the side kitchen only features a two-burner, gas-only hob. It sits above a combined oven and grill, too. You do get an extractor fan, and a microwave.

There’s no fold-out extension, but the unit is L-shaped, so there is good workspace.

The swan neck tap
Swan neck tap is a quality and handy tool in the kitchen

The sink has an elegant swan neck tap you can pull out to wash vegetables and the like, and it’s well lit, thanks to a large window, with two mains sockets where you need them. There is a slimline motorhome fridge, too.

The washroom in the Coachman Avventura 565

You have to step back up to the washroom. The shower cubicle on the offside is fairly narrow, due to the wheel arch, although you can use the latter to help wash your feet. Headspace is only OK, but you get two soap dishes and a good-size roof vent.

The shower cubicle is made slightly smaller due to the wheel arch (left); The main washroom has two cupboards with covered and open shelving (right)

The main washroom on the nearside has another large roof vent. It includes a built-in hexagonal basin in front of a large mirror and a circular loo (with cassette access when you’re emptying the motorhome cassette toilet on the side where the awning would be). It also has a ridge in the floor – probably not large enough to trip over, but possibly enough to stub your toe on.

Sleeping in the Avventura 565

The two single beds at the back include an extension that you can use to make them into a huge double with a ladder for access. They both come with mattress toppers, which makes them super comfy, so no need to think about how to make a motorhome bed more comfortable.

There are good swan neck spotlights at the end, which contain USB ports in the base – surprisingly so, because the central panel at the rear includes two mains sockets, plus USB and USB C ports.

The single beds

The two settees and the lowered table easily make up a good double at the front without the need for any infill cushions. There’s even a small left-over space where someone could perch while making a morning cuppa.

Storage in the Avventura 565

When it comes to loading the motorhome, storage is mixed. You get a great rear garage with room for bikes, lockers and even a shower. But inside, because the underseat areas contain travel seats, there is less space. There is an OK wardrobe under each bed, but neither is a hanging wardrobe. You get overhead lockers, but those at the back are small.

Kitchen storage is better, with two columns of three drawers along with a large drawer under the oven, a locker next to the microwave, and small cupboards above and below the fridge.

Alternatives to consider

The Swift Voyager 505 is a more compact four-berth which has a contemporary interior and a well-equipped kitchen. Alternatively, you could consider the Adria Matrix 670 SL 60 Year Edition; it’s a tempting prospect which has an airy lounge, plenty of anniversary goodies, and feels classy too.
