Mercedes has taken the title of the Best Pre-Owned Base Vehicle at the Owner Satisfaction Awards 2025.
The Owner Satisfaction Awards see members of the Camping and Caravanning Club and readers of Practical Motorhome vote to show how they have got on with their vehicles, with part of the survey helping to identify the leading vans for a camper conversion. The voting reveals what motorhomers have made of the reliability, the driving comfort, the performance, and the availability of spare parts, as well as whether or not the owner would buy a ‘van on the same base vehicle in the future.
The victory for Mercedes came about after the company secured an impressive score of 87.90%, beating second-placed Volkswagen’s total of 87.40%. The popular Mercedes Sprinter base vehicle is used by a number of brands, appearing in models such as the Malibu Genius 641 LE and the Le Voyageur 7.6 GJF Heritage.
The win came in what proved to be a competitive category, with six other Gold Awards won. These went to Toyota (84.60%), Renault (83.60), Citroën (83.40%), Ford (83.20%), Peugeot (81.90%) and Fiat (81.20%).
It proved a successful Owner Satisfaction Awards for Mercedes, as the brand finished second and achieved a Gold Award in the Best New Base Vehicle category at the Owner Satisfaction Awards. This followed a score of 90.5%, as the brand narrowly missed out on the top spot to Volkswagen, who scored 92.7%.
