Wellhouse Leisure reports record sales in 2023

It was a bumper year in 2023 for camper specialist Wellhouse Leisure, topped off with two wins in our annual Owner Satisfaction Awards.

The campervan converter was founded some 20 years ago, and enjoyed its best ever year for sales in 2023, mainly thanks to a return to focusing on sales of campers based on pre-owned Japanese base vehicles that are petrol-engined, so low emission zone compliant.

The converter, which features in our best small campervan guide, is currently producing campers based on Toyota’s Alphard and Vellfire, Honda’s Elysion and Stepwagon, Nissan’s NV350 and NV200, and more. Typically, these are low-mileage vehicles in top-class condition, with high specifications. Generally, prices start in the early £20,000s.

Wellhouse also picked up a Gold Award for Best Van Converter – Manufacturer (New and Used) and was overall winner in the Best Van Converter – Dealer (New and Used) class in the latest round of our Owner Satisfaction Awards, where our readers vote to let us know how they got on when buying their ‘vans, helping others to choose the best campervan for their tours.

Plans for 2024 include the launch of a hire fleet using its Toyota Alphard-based campers, as well as acquiring additional premises at its base near Barnsley, Yorkshire. It will also be retailing DIY kits for a variety of base vehicles, and there will be a spring launch for its conversion of the new Ford Transit Custom PHEV.

Wellhouse CEO and founder David Elliott said: “After the challenges of the past couple of years, we are delighted to have achieved record sales in 2023.”
