IT’S NEARLY TIME for the 2014 Caravan & Motorhome Show at Manchester’s EventCity, so here’s our guide to what’s on to help you get the most from your visit.
Find your ideal ‘van then hit the road!
If the gloomy winter weather is getting you down and you’re dreaming of your next tour, we’re sure you’ll be inspired to get out and about in your motorhome once you’ve wandered round this vast show. Running from 23 to 26 January, The Caravan & Motorhome Show promises to fuel your new year holiday plans and get you ready for another year on the road.
The brand new Product Finder caught our eye. This webpage lets you see which motorhome makers will be in attendance and what they’ll be bringing, so you can plan your trip around the show and find your perfect model. The show gives visitors a great opportunity to sample the latest 2014 products – whether it’s your first ‘van or you’re a lifelong fan, there will be plenty to whet your appetite.
So, who’s going? Well, Swift, Auto-Sleepers, Lunar, Burstner, Elddis, Bailey, Autocruise, Auto-Trail, Romahome, Chausson, Moto-Trek, WildAx, Knaus, Kingston Campers and more will all be showing ‘vans from their newest ranges, displayed by top dealerships such as Lowdham Leisureworld, Richard Baldwin, Spinney Motorhomes and Emm-Bee.
For example, Swift says models from its Escape, Bessacarr, Kon-Tiki and Esprit Hi Style ranges will be at the Manchester show, while Lunar’s Compact Camper range, ‘vans from Bailey’s Autograph and Compact ranges and many more – plus, we understand, some not listed on the website – will be at the show to let you compare and contrast. And make sure you read our motorhome reviews before you go, to give you an idea of what’s in store.
Perfect your motorhome manoeuvring skills in Manchester
But it’s not just about splashing out on your next ‘van. If you’re new to motor caravanning or you think a quick refresher course might be handy, why not sign up for a free motorhome manoeuvring lesson at the show – it might even save you a few pennies by making you a more economical and efficient driver.
Be inspired at the striking Samlesbury Hall
Once you’re ready to hit the road, you need to consider where you’re going and we think the new for 2014 Great Days Out section at next month’s Manchester show will deliver many exciting ideas. How about the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways in Snowdonia? Or maybe one of the UK’s many stunning stately homes, such as Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire? Great Days Out promises a variety of attractions to suit many tastes. Or head to the Heart of England Fine Foods Market and let your stomach dictate your holiday destination, while the chance to pick up expert cookery tips and much more will make your tours more memorable than ever.
Expert cookery advice on offer at the Manchester show
Of course, a trip to The Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester would not be complete without visiting us at Practical Motorhome – we will be at stand 2-1. Also, our 2014 Owner Satisfaction Survey awards ceremony is at the show and, for the first time, it’s open to the public. It would be great to see you there. Follow the signs and join in from 3pm on Thursday 23 January 2014, the show’s first day.
Enjoy the show!
