Exciting times at Bilbo’s stand at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show where the campervan converter was creating plenty of interest with the launch of its new Ford prototype campervan.
The prototype campervan is based on a Ford Transit Custom, an option which is among the best vans for converting to a camper, and Bilbo’s was inviting comment and feedback from customers on what will be its first conversion of a Ford-based vehicle.

The prototype draws on the design of Bilbo’s popular Celex model but will have a wider bed. It will be NCC and Type approved. The prototype on show has a front elevating roof (also known as Continental) with a bed and as with the Celex the backrest of the seats pulls down creating another double albeit wider. Options will be similar those offered on the Celex, also with options on floors and fabrics.
It is still relatively early days, so watch this space for developments. As with all Bilbo models there are sure to be lots of options available
There’s been plenty to see at the NEC this week, with Out and About displaying a new VW-based camper conversion while Robeta had its luxurious new Schumacher camper on show, with prices starting from £278,740.
