The AA has just announced its annual Campsite of the Year award winners for 2011, which recognise great touring sites across the whole of Britain.

 

The three top awards go to Silverdale Caravan Park in Lancashire (Best English site), Linnhe Lochside Holidays in the Highlands (Best Scottish site) and Plassey Leisure Park near Wrexham (Best Welsh site). The inaugural Roger Almond Award for the AA’s Most Improved Campsite went to Church Farm Caravan & Camping Park in Sixpenny Handley, Wiltshire.

 

Five regional winners were also announced. They are:
Oakdown Holiday Park (pictured), Sidmouth, Devon (South-West England)
Sandy Balls Holiday Centre, Fordingbridge, Hants (South-East England)
Townsend Touring Park, Pembridge, Herefordshire (Heart of England)
Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, Ambleside, Cumbria (North-West England)
and Ord House Country Park, Berwick-on-Tweed (North-East England)
