The new line of Sports for 2020 makes Swift's Kon-tikis a whole lot more attainable. Nick Harding grabbed the opportunity for an exclusive first look.

Verdict

A cracking blend of style, high-specification and practicality, with loads of cues that should appeal particularly to British buyers. Uncomplicated pricing system (in other words, no hidden extras) can only help the cause, too. We also think it looks great.

The announcement of the Sport line-up is a major boost for Swift’s 2020 season Kon-tiki offerings. The 560, one of seven Kon-tiki Sports – might have few surprises with its floorplan – four berths, rear French bed with washroom adjacent – but there’s more than enough innovation inside.

Living

Flat flooring runs from cab to lounge, where a forward-facing half-dinette offers safe travel seating for two behind the driver and an inward-facing sofa is behind the cab passenger.

The side-fixing table with a slot-in extension stows safely in a locker for travel. Upholstery is high quality, while factors such as the easy-action locker door catches all count in this Swift’s favour.

A hatch in the floor offers useful storage, and access to the waste-water tank for cleaning, and then it’s a small step down to the rest of the living quarters.

If you want examples of the thought that’s gone into this motorhome, just stop at the habitation door. There’s a floor locker for footwear, the bin in the door is raised to a more convenient height, and there are two double coat hooks.

Kitchen

The headline-grabbing feature of a star-studded kitchen is the 133-litre Dometic fridge, with its clever door operation that means it opens either way.

Across the corridor, the main unit is a space-efficient L-shape, with a dual-fuel Thetford cooker plus microwave, and a stainless-steel inset sink with add-on drainer. That worktop is space-age Fenix, as is the small fixed shelf behind the mixer tap. Note, too, the Omnivent and LED-lit splash panel.

Washroom

The washroom adjacent boasts the usual fixed basin/swivel-bowl toilet/shower cubicle trio, accompanied by an Ecocamel Orbit showerhead on a riser bar.

Beds

At the back, few will have qualms about the comfort and support of the Duvalay Apollo Luxe mattress. Those handy reading lamps have a dimmer setting, and the two corner ledges will come in useful. There’s a pleated curtain for bedroom privacy.
