Do good things come in threes? It turns out they might well do: Outdoor revolution’s E-Sport Air is available in three height versions and, as you can see, it’s the mid-range L version on review here that’s most suited to a typical coachbuilt motorhome (in this instance, a Swift Bolero 684FB). It’s a reminder, though, that for any awning, the key thing is that it doesn’t cut across any side windows. The pitched roof design, also, should ensure proper clearance from your motorhome’s habitation door.

So, what we have here is – dare we say it – a typical medium-sized inflatable awning designed for normal holiday/touring use (but not seasonal pitching). It has single-point inflation (you can blow the whole unit up, via the double-action pump) and two outlets to make it all the easier for getting the air out when deflating – which, in turn, makes packing it away all the easier, too. The specially designed valves mean it’s impossible to over-inflate – and Outdoor Revolution offers a lifetime warranty on its tubes. There are also two additional bracer tubes if you ever want to give a bit of extra rigidity to the overall structure, and dual-beading for attaching (6mm and 4mm) adds flexibility.

That main fabric is a double ripstop polyester with a high (6000mm hydrostatic head) waterproof rating. Padded uprights give a snug fit to the side of your vehicle, although metal poles to complete the fitting are only an optional extra.

Unlike so many awning makers that supply easily breakable plastic pegs, Outdoor Revolution pitches (sorry) in with steel pegs as standard. Items such as the draught skirt, mud wall, storm strap and tinted windows with zipped curtains are all standard, and both side panels – which include mesh – zip out.

There’s also a whole portfolio of potential extras available – everything from tables and chairs to windbreaks and crockery; do check out the rather stylish lighting options.
