January’s Somerset Motorhome Show

THE SOMERSET MOTORHOME SHOW, due to take place from 11-13 January, 2013, at The Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, has been cancelled. Instead, show organiser Stone Leisure will put all its energy into the spring Somerset Motorhome Show from 12-14 April. By then, the economic climate should have improved – and the Somerset Levels may even have lived up to their name, dried out a bit and 'set'.

THE SOMERSET MOTORHOME SHOW, due to take place from

11-13 January, 2013, at The Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, has been

cancelled.

Instead, show organiser Stone Leisure will put all its energy into the spring Somerset Motorhome Show from 12-14 April. By then, the economic climate should have improved – and the Somerset Levels may even have lived up to their name, dried out a bit and ‘set’.

Stone Leisure said: “Dealers are reluctant at this time to commit themselves to additional

expenditure, when they themselves are not sure of the immediate future

of new motorhome sales. Memories of the past three harsh winters have

also left their mark.

“Stone Leisure has always worked with the trade and neither of us

would want to proceed with an event that might give the public the wrong

impression. We are now focusing our energies into the successful bigger

April 2013 Somerset Motorhome Show.” This indoor show will take place from the 12-14 April at The Bath

& West Showground, complete with camping (for caravans and motorhomes, all on hardstanding) from Thursday noon to Monday noon. Adult tickets cost £5 (advance day tickets) and children under 18 get in for free.

“We want to extend our thanks to everyone who helped make the Show a

success for the past 16 years and we look forward to seeing the January

show return when conditions improve.”
