Prime Day is a great opportunity to secure some tour-enhancing bargains, but sifting through the deals and knowing which ones are actually worth buying can feel like a daunting prospect. That’s where I come in – I’ve been a judge at the Practical Motorhome Awards for three years now and am in a good position to pick out the products that I think are actually worth investing in during the Prime Day sales.
After all, space is at a premium in our ‘vans – we want items that actually make a difference to the touring experience and aren’t just going to gather dust in the garage. So long as you have an active Prime subscription, you’ll be able to enjoy these deals.

Renogy 500A Battery Monitor was £84.99 now £44.99
I’m loving the 47% saving on this Renogy battery monitor. Displaying information on its clear LCD display, the gadget is compatible with a range of different batteries, including lead acid and lithium-ion. Able to measure currents of up to 500 amps, the gadget can accurately measure voltage, battery capacity, current and consumer power in real-time, helping you maintain your ‘van’s leisure battery. This Prime Day, it’s available for only £44.99, an excellent £40 discount.
LogicBlue Technology LevelMatePro was £129.99 now £103.99
Having a level motorhome makes a tour a more enjoyable experience, which is where this handy gadget comes in. To use, you just need to mount it with the provided screws, before downloading the LevelMatePro app to set it up. Then, from your ‘van, you can ensure a level pitch is achieved, with a 3-axis digital accelerometer ensuring you achieve the level motorhome you want. After all, who wants to face an uphill trek to the washroom? In the Prime Day sale, it’s discounted by 20%, bringing it down to only £103.99.
Autoglym The Collection was £25.49 now £18.18
Ensuring we look after our ‘vans is a crucial part of the motorhome maintenance process, and this useful set from well-known brand Autoglym is currently available with a nice 29% discount. The pack comes with everything you could need for sprucing up your ‘van’s interior.
It includes Interior Shampoo, which can be used for getting rid of any stains that can occur and, usefully, the manufacturer says it’s suitable for all interior fabrics and surfaces. The set also includes Fast Glass, which can be used for sprucing up your ‘van’s windows and mirrors, and Vinyl & Rubber Care, which you can rely on to protect any plastic and rubber components inside the motorhome, as well as the dashboard.
Chilly’s Water Bottle was £24, now £20
I love my Chilly’s Water Bottle – it’s actually one of my favourite things I’ve bought in recent years. Whether I’m setting off for a day out or am on the road, I always make sure I have this topped up before I set off. It’s incredibly effective with keeping water cool, but I also like using it for hot water, something which would be very handy if you want to break up your drive with a cup of tea (just make sure you have some mugs to hand). It’s leak proof, looks smart and is also available with a 17% discount in the Prime Day sale – it’s even available in a choice of colours!
NEBULA Anker Mars 3 Air was £549 now £429
I’ve been testing the Nebula Mars 3 Air recently and I can safely say I’ve been very impressed by it. Picture quality has been excellent, even when its projection scales up to 150-inches, with the 400 ANSI Lumens of brightness providing a great picture, so long as it’s not in direct daylight (I’ve found it fine to use in the evening with the light on, for instance). Quick to set up, it has a good selection of apps, including Netflix and Prime, and, usefully for motorhome owners, comes with a built-in battery, which would be ideal if you want to watch in the awning or on the side of your ‘van (so long as the lighting permits). It’s currently available with a good 22% discount bringing it down to £429.99, and I think it makes a great alternative to the traditional TV on tour.
I love reading – it’s one of my favourite things to do when I’m enjoying a break. Owning a Kindle really does make this so much easier to do, saving you from having to take books away with you (which can quickly get bulky), but also allowing you to buy more when you’re on tour, in case you end up finishing your latest series a little quicker than intended. It’s portable, there’s an excellent battery life (a single charge with USB-C lasts up to 6 weeks), and it’s easy to read. There’s also an excellent 24% saving on it this Prime Day, bringing the price down to only £64.99!
Vango Thor Over-Sized chair XL was £85.99 now £73.09
Whether you’re enjoying a drink outdoors, have set up your projector and are watching a show, or are simply reading a book and enjoying the fresh air, you’re going to need somewhere to sit to truly enjoy the surroundings. That’s where a camping chair comes in. One that’s caught my eye is the Vango Thor Over-Sized chair XL – it promises excellent comfort and, when not in use, can be folded down to a compact size for simple transportation. It has a 600D polyester back rest and arm rest, and despite a weight of only 6.3kg, can take up to 180kg. It’s currently in the Prime Day sale for only £73.09, a 15% saving.
