A portable power station is capable of transforming your experience when you’re in your ‘van, letting you charge several gadgets simultaneously and providing some handy versatility. The Black Friday sales are a great opportunity to buy a portable power station, with some big savings available on devices from leading brands. In this guide, I’m sharing the deals that have really stood out to me.
Out of all of the offers, my favourite one so far is for the Jackery Explorer 1000. The portable power station is the cheapest it’s ever been in the Black Friday sale, where it’s on offer with a huge 50% discount. Practical Motorhome’s Editor-in-chief, Sarah, has one and she’s been impressed by what a useful extra power source it’s been. Another deal I’m recommending is for the Bluetti EB3A – this is a more budget-friendly option which was a winner at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2024.

My pick of the Black Friday portable power station deals for motorhomers
Jackery Explorer 1000 – £1049 now £529 (save 50%)
- Weight: 10kg
- Capacity: 1002Wh
- Outputs: 2 x USB-C ports, 1 X USB-A, 1 x QC 3.0 port, 1 x DC port, 2 x 230v AC socket
If I was buying a portable power station this Black Friday, this is the deal I’d be most tempted by. A 50% discount brings the Explorer 1000 down to its cheapest price to date on Amazon, according to tracking tool Camel Camel Camel. As I’ve already mentioned, Practical Motorhome’s Editor-in-chief, Sarah, owns one along with two SolarSaga 100W panels (full review: Jackery Solar Generator 1000) and she’s impressed by what a useful piece of kit it’s proved to be, as well as how simple to use it is.
The seven sockets provide some handy flexibility as well. I also like how smart it looks, with its LCD display making it easy to track the battery life.
Bluetti EB3A – £299 now £219 (save 27%)
- Weight: 4.6kg
- Capacity: 268wh
- Outputs: 1 x 12V socket, 2 x 12V DC sockets, 2 x USB-A ports, 1 x USB-C port, 1 x AC socket
This Bluetti was the winner of the best motorhome gadget category at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2024 and it proved popular with our judging panel. Paul, the Deputy editor of Practical Motorhome, tested it (full review: Bluetti EB3A) and was impressed by how easy it was to use, with simplicity a trait that I’m sure I’m not alone in appreciating.
To use, just plug your device in – you can even see the rate it’s charging at. It provides a good selection of ports for a more entry-level model and I’m a fan of the wireless charger it comes with as well. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option to charge lower-powered items such as a phone or laptop, I’d say this could be ideal for you.
EcoFlow River 2 Max £549 now £411 (save 25%)
- Weight: 6.1kg
- Capacity: 512Wh
- Outputs: 1 x USB-C socket; 3 x USB-A sockets; 2 x AC sockets, 1 x DC socket, 1 x DC5521
The EcoFlow River 2 Max offers a 512Wh capacity and provides motorhomers with a good selection of ports. Its in-built handle should make it fairly portable to carry the 6.1kg product around too. Something I really like about this device is how fast it charges – plug it into the mains and it should fully recharge within an hour, a feature which is particularly handy if you only remember to top it up shortly before you set off. Download the EcoFlow app and you’ll also be able to check how your devices are charging, as well as make changes to settings as necessary.
Jackery Explorer 500 £556 now £299 (save 46%)
- Weight: 6kg
- Capacity: 518Wh
- Outputs: 1 x 230V, 500W socket; 1 x 12V (10A) socket; 3 x USB-A 5V (2.4A)
It may have a smaller capacity than the Explorer 1000 which featured at the top, but the Explorer 500 offers good value in the Black Friday sales, where a huge 46% saving brings it down to only £299. Understandably, you don’t get as many outputs as its big brother provides, but it’s still able to charge a laptop up to seven times or a phone 53 times.
Anker 555 £919 now £499 (save 46%)
- Weight: 13.1kg
- Capacity: 1024Wh
- Outputs: 3 x USB-C, 2 x USB-A, 2 x AC outlets, 1 x car outlet
Offering an excellent selection of ports, the 555 is currently available with a huge 46% saving. Providing a capacity of 1024Wh, it should be able to charge a laptop 14 times and a phone 66 times. Its display is easy to understand and I like how it provides an estimation as to how long it will take to recharge, as well as the capacity of the battery and output. I also think the inclusion of an LED light is useful, whether you face a power cut at home or get caught without a torch in your ‘van.
EcoFlow Delta 2 £1099 now £699 (save 36%)
- Weight: 12kg
- Capacity: 1024Wh
- Ports: 4 x AC sockets; 2 x USB-A fast charge sockets; 2 x USB-A sockets; 2 x USB-C sockets; 2 x DC sockets
With an impressive 12 outputs, the EcoFlow Delta 2 offers plenty of connectivity, as well as a 1024Wh capacity. If that’s not enough, you can even get additional batteries to increase this to 3KWh! With an impressive 1800W output, I like how you can download the EcoFlow app to control it via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
