4. Eyes peeled for Nessie!

As one of the few sites with direct access to the famous lake, Loch Ness Shores Camping and Caravanning Club Site offers stunning surroundings. From Easter to October, you can hire a boat or kayak, complete with a fishin permit, and head out onto the tranquil waters.

5. Cornish sea fishing

Trelispen Caravan & Camping Park makes a peaceful base while you enjoy great fishing on the south Cornwall coast. The harbour at Goran Haven, a short walk from the site, is perfect for fishing, or you could book a boat trip from there or nearby Mevagissey.

6. Wiltshire's finest

7. Sussex sanctuary

The beautiful grounds of Horam Manor Country Park are perfect for a relaxing break. Facilities are top-notch and the tranquil lakes are stocked with carp, tench, perch, bream, roach and rudd. There's also a cosy café overlooking the lakes.

8. Secret Cumbria

The small riverside campsite at Patterdale Hall Estate CL has space for five vehicles and is exclusively for members of The Caravan and Motorhome Club. This is a perfect location for anglers, with access to a private foreshore and a lake view picnic area looking out on Ullswater.

9. Eye up some great angling
