THE LINK MIGHT not be obvious from the name but PRIMA Leisure is the awnings and accessories arm of Bailey of Bristol.
Its best-known awning is probably the highly innovative L-shaped awning for Bailey’s Discovery caravans, but it does produce motorhome awnings, too.
These include the MoveLite TI tail drive-away awning – which, as the name implies, fits across the tailgate of a van conversion – and the T2 lowline drive-away, which more conventionally goes along the side of the vehicle.
The larger MotorDeluxe Infinity Air Awning is designed for bigger ‘vans where having the drive-away option isn’t so important.
Although these are produced by Bailey, all of these awnings are designed to fit any brand of motorhome.
On the Prima website, you can find a wide range of accessories that are specifically linked to different Bailey ranges, along with plenty of more conventional non-branded gear.
There are also awning accessories, including carpets, tent pegs and wheel arch covers, and windbreaks. In addition, you will find a selection of more general touring and travel accessories. Most recently, this includes the BriteAngle, a warning triangle (exclusive to Prima) with flashing LED lights that can be attached to a motorhome in the event of a breakdown.
Look out, too, for the Dry Sparkle waterless wash motorhome cleaning kit, which is proving very popular, and Truma LevelControl, which attaches to your gas bottle and sends readings of the remaining gas to your mobile.
Prima Leisure: A quick history
Prima grew out of Bailey’s spare parts and accessories department. Bailey Spare Parts was registered as a separate company in 2016, when it moved to premises on the other side of Bristol from the Bailey factory, so it had space for an awning showroom.
Then in 2019, it changed its name to PRIMA Leisure, to reflect the fact that, while it continues to supply Bailey parts, it can cater to the needs of other motorhome owners as well.
You’re in Hall 4 Accessories & Shopping Village at Van Live! See who else is exhibiting in this hall, or take me to the Show Guide.
