Nu Venture has been producing award-winning coachbuilt and panel van conversions for more than 20 years. The mainstay of the firm’s small factory, near Wigan Pier, are coachbuilt motorhome models based on Citroën and Peugeot base vehicles, which have a strong following. Nu Venture Motorhomes also customises ’vans to suit customers’ specific requirements.
The Nu Rio Micro can be built either on the Citroen Dispatch 2-litre diesel Euro 5 engine with six-speed gearbox, or the Peugeot Expert 2-litre diesel auto gearbox. Our test vehicle was the latter.
To see examples of the workmanship for yourself, contact Nu Venture in Wallgate, Wigan, Lancashire, or pop in to see what’s in stock at Nu Venture agent dealerships such as Todds Leisure in Preston, Robsons in Wolsingham, P & P Car & Camper Sales in Gosport, Hampshire, Knowepark in Livingston and Peak Leisure Vehicles in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Living
In the lounge you can specify an arrangement to suit the way you want to use your ’van. The options are two parallel seats with a table in the middle, two single side dinettes, a sofa and a side dinette, and wrap-around seating.
Three roof lights brighten the ’van by day and LED strip lights take care of nighttime illumination.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, the twin-burner hob shares a stainless steel unit with the sink. A worktop extension provides extra preparation space. There’s a three-way 60-litre fridge, but no oven or grill.
Washroom
Hot water and a shower unit are options, but there is a Thetford electric-flush toilet and a moulded vanity unit with a drop-down basin in the little washroom, in the rear offside corner of this micro camper. A roof vent provides ventilation and daylight in the washroom.
Beds
At night the sofas convert to a decent-sized (1.85m x 1.87m) double bed or two singles.
Storage
There are six overhead lockers and a useful cubbyhole for bedding over the cab.
