What’s so special about dealer specials? Find out in our second Summer Special TV show which is all about dealer special motorhomes. Yes, we’ve said ‘special’ a lot, so you’d better tune in to find out if these ‘vans live up to their billing.
So, how can you see our TV show? Tune in to The Motorhome Channel. You’ll find us on Sky 192 and on Freesat 402. Alternatively, watch live online on the Information TV website.
We kick off this episode with the Majestic 255, a dealer special from Marquis, reviewed by Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton. This Peugeot Boxer-based, four-berth coachbuilt is designed to tempt caravanners into motorcaravans, and its layout featuring a French bed with parallel lounge seats at the front and a good-sized kitchen might well do just that. That kitchen also has a great, circular sink, a dual fuel cooker, a microwave oven, and a separate oven and grill. There’s also Alde heating, making it a genuine four-season ‘van. So, what dealer special extras do you get with this motorhome? How about an engine upgrade, cruise control, driver and passenger air bags, automatic climate control, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and a wind-out canopy awning – sound good? Don’t miss our Marquis Majestic 255 review on The Motorhome Channel.
Tune in on Sky 192, Freesat 402 or watch online and you’ll see a Lowdhams dealer special, too, as Practical Motorhome’s Test Editor Mike Le Caplain reviews the Bessacarr Hi-Style 496. Open the door and you step into the forward lounge area, which has four belted travel seats and a dining table, and which converts into a double bed. Above this, at the touch of a button, you can lower the drop-down double bed. But you might be surprised to learn that’s not all your lounging space gone. In the Hi-Style there’s a large, U-shaped rear lounge that converts, of course, into a good-sized double bed. A well-equipped side kitchen and an all-in-one washroom also feature. Watch our show for more on this Lowdhams dealer special.
Next in our Summer Special TV show, it’s time to rewind to a review of another Marquis dealer special, as Niall takes us round the family friendly Majestic 180. Based on the Elddis Autoquest, straight away you’ll see the smart, silver cab that’s part of this motorhome’s special edition kit, as is the wind-out awning. Like the Bessacarr it has front and rear lounges. It also has a wet room, a kitchen with a good range of features and a double bed in the overcab area. Make sure you watch on The Motorhome Channel for the full review.
Finally, we’ve got some holiday inspiration for you, as Practical Motorhome’s Bryony Symes takes, you guessed it, a dealer special on tour. She’s packed a Swift Lifestyle 664 and is heading for the Cotswolds. She goes to Stroud on a vintage-themed break and also decides to visit Cirencester, taking in its Roman roots.
And that’s it for our second Summer Special. This show will be on TV between Monday 6 July and Sunday 19 July 2015 at these times, on these days:

- Wednesdays at 5.30pm
