Chinese commercial vehicle maker Farizon has launched an all-electric campervan, which might pave the way for a new range of electric vehicles in the UK.

According to reports on CNEVpost.com, the all-new Farizon X-Van campervan is based on the company’s Super Van. This people-carrier base vehicle comes in at just 5.02m in length and 2.14m in height, meaning that it’s likely to be suitable as a campervan for everyday use.

Onboard you’ll find a power station offering 3.3kW, which can be used to operate the fully electric facilities. Powering the vehicle itself is set to be an electric motor that has a maximum output of 170kW; test results suggest that it could give up to 460km of range.

The accommodation area itself has an electrically raising roof, which will house a bed. Reports also suggest that the shower space in the washroom will be expandable.

Interestingly, Farizon’s SV model is already on sale in the UK, after the brand recently opened a flagship dealership in London’s Park Royal. It has also appointed two dealer franchises in Britain: one in west London, and another in Somerset.

While we have been informed that there are currently “no short- or medium-term plans” to bring the X-Van to the UK, we will be keeping a close eye on developments.

One variant of the X-Van campervan is available in China, with a price tag of around £28,000.

Another recent launch has seen Carado unveil a unique campervan that features a permanent staircase, marking the first time such an arrangement has appeared in a campervan.
