One of the joys of touring is the chance to enjoy some relaxation time. This can take many different forms – for some of us, it can start on the drive to our site, as we listen to some of our favourite songs. For others, it could involve catching up on the latest binge-worthy TV series (is it just me who still needs to see how Succession ends?). Then, there’s the thought of spending a morning with a good book and a cup of coffee – bliss! That’s where having the right gadgets can make a real difference to your touring experience.

There are some fantastic discounts to be had on a wide range of Amazon devices this Prime Day (11th-12th July), but three, in particular, stand out. Don’t forget you’ll need an active Prime subscription to benefit from these deals too.
The first of the Amazon devices in the Prime Day sale is for TV lovers – the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, which is currently available with a huge 44% saving, bringing the price down to only £24.99. This can be plugged into your motorhome TV and immediately gives you access to a wide variety of apps when you’re pitched up, including Netflix, Disney+, Now, Youtube, ITVX, BBC iPlayer and more. It can also be used to listen to music too.
The Echo Auto makes listening to music easier than ever, whether you’re on your way to the site or are heading off on a day trip. Simply connect to the Alexa app on your phone and start streaming music through your ‘van’s speakers via Bluetooth.
As it comes with five microphones that are built in, Alexa should be able to hear you over the sounds of your drive too, letting you listen to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Audible and much more. (And don’t forget, you can access a three-month free Audible trial if you’re a Prime member too).
Is it just me who seems to have a never-ending pile of books I want to read? It was getting a Kindle that helped me start saving bookshelf space – and now saves me valuable storage space when I’m on the road. With a 300 psi high-resolution screen, it allows you to read clearly, while its 16 GB capacity should suit even the most eager of readers. Plus its battery is excellent – charge it up via a USB-C and it should last for up to six weeks!
After more touring gadgets? We also spotted a £65 saving on the TomTom Go Camper Max too.
