Sussex-based Premier Motorhomes has gone into voluntary liquidation – the first significant motorhome-only dealer to go under this year.
The dealer stocked three of the leading makes of motorhomes, Adria, Chausson and Dethleffs, but ceased trading in July. Gavin Savage and John Walters from Begbies Traynor in Brighton were appointed joint liquidators on 19 August.
Gavin Savage said, “To the best of our knowledge we have not been made aware of any customers that have outstanding deposits with Premier Motorhomes, and any customers with any warranty issues should contact the manufacturers in the first instance.”
Adria has authorised nearby Reliance Motorhome and Caravan Services, which was already an existing Adria warranty centre, to provide all required habitation and aftersales support to Premier’s customers.
Chris Davies from Reliance says his company should also be able to support Dethleffs customers, as it already has a relationship with the manufacturer. “We have already salvaged any warranty parts we could locate on site at Premier, but cannot guarantee that this will fulfill all outstanding claims,” he said.
He said his company would be less likely to be able to support Chausson customers, as it has no relationship with the company, although it could as a last resort carry out a habitation check for validating the purchase of a third party warranty.
