Campervan manufacturer Onyx Vans has launched its new Mesa campervan at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC this week.

Based on a long wheelbase MAN TGE (which is among the best vans for a camper conversion), the four-berth Onyx Mesa model is the Sussex company’s latest four-berth.

It features a front dinette with two travel seats and an extending clip-on table, a simple but permanent shower room, and a transverse bed at the back raised up to allow more storage underneath.

The side kitchen includes a two-burner induction hob, an 85-litre fridge, a stainless steel sink, and the option of a three-in-one oven.

There’s also a pop-up roof which the company has designed and built itself. Unusually highly pitched, this fits onto the van’s roof rack, which means on a long wheel base it is still possible to include an air conditioning unit behind the roof over the bed at the back. The roof rack can also be sold separately.

The van is also heavily equipped for off-grid campervanning, and so includes a Victron 400Ah lithium battery, and 350W of campervan solar panels.

The Onyx costs from £145,000 for a front-wheel drive version, or from £150,000 for a 4×4 version.
