One of the best things about motorhomes is, of course, that they allow you to hit the road whenever you want and get out and see the world.
It’s that spontaneity that we love: the chance to drop everything at a moment’s notice and head for a beautiful beach or back-to-basics campsite.
But if you’ve got a large motorhome, that’s not always easy: parking can be tricky, and those narrow country lanes will be out of bounds.
That’s why, for the ultimate in adventure, you need a smaller vehicle – that’s why you need the new Adria Active.
Packed with kit as standard
Based on the latest Renault Trafic, the Adria Active Duo campervan comes in at just five metres in length. That means it’s perfect for everyday driving, as well as those brilliant adventures that take you away from home for weeks at a time.
The Active may be compact in dimensions, but you’ll be amazed at the amount of space – and the level of kit – that you’ll find inside.
For starters, unlike in most campervans, there are sliding doors on both sides – it’s easy to roll them back when you’re pitched up and let the great outdoors in.
The pop-up roof houses a comfortable double bed, creating an additional two-berths; the seat in the main accommodation area also converts into a roomy double.
Four belted travel seats also feature, so there’s one for every potential occupant.
Sporty and practical
The bench seat can be moved back and forth, giving you the option of a larger storage area at the back of the ‘van: perfect if you want to carry sports equipment with ease, including a bike.
Keen chefs won’t feel left out in the Active Duo – the side kitchen has a raft of features for easy cooking on the go.
There’s a 42-litre compressor fridge, as well as an Inox sink, and a gas cooker with a practical glass cover.
And when you’ve returned to the campsite after your day’s adventure, you can make use of the handy exterior shower.
A tailgate awning is also available, for even more living space.
A base to rely on in the Adria Active
The Renault Trafic base vehicle, meanwhile, has a restyled exterior and new cab, with all the brilliant features and driver aids that you’d expect.
These include a fantastic new multimedia system, as well as larger cup holders – hugely useful when you’re on a long drive.
Cruise control comes as standard, too, and both cab seats swivel for extra comfort on site.
And with the Active Duo priced at around £70,000 – including the brilliant Comfort Pack, coloured paintwork and automatic gearbox – it’s clear this is a lot of campervan for the money.
So what are you waiting for? Get ready to get Active, and get ready to hit the road.
