If Nigel’s travel diary for his trip to Croatia on a shoestring has whet your appetite for a European jaunt this summer, you might want to take a look at a new web page from the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) before you plan your journey.
The page shows a map with various pollutant levels across most of Europe, including air pollution from road transport and aviation, agriculture and other industrial activities. The data comes from a whole host of sources and E-PRTR has simply collated it onto one relatively easy to use place.
Unfortunately, Croatia, Serbia and other countries in the former Yugoslavia are not covered, and the ability to understand some French will come in handy for making sense of the map interface…
