British van converter Bilbo’s walked away with the top gong for new motorhomes for sale in the UK at last night’s Owner Satisfaction Awards 2017 ceremony, brought to you by Practical Motorhome and The Camping and Caravanning Club, in association with Club Care Insurance.
The Surrey-based VW camper van conversion specialist’s score of 97.6% proved unbeatable. German brand Hobby was the runner up (96.5%), Spanish marque Benimar in the bronze medal position (94%).
When it comes to the best used motorhomes for sale in the UK, our top prize went to German giant Hymer, which received a 93% rating.
The next three slots were all occupied by British brands, Devon Conversions the runners up (89.8%), Auto-Sleepers third (87.75%) and Romahome fourth (86.5%).
What are the UK’s best motorhome dealers?
As this survey is about the complete experience of motorhome ownership, respondents are also asked to rate their ’vans’ supplying dealer.
Taking the number one spot for dealers of new ’vans at our Owner Satisfaction Awards 2017 was Becks Motorhomes, scoring 96%. In fact, this is the second year on the trot that this Norfolk-based dealer has won this prestigious award.
In second place, with an excellent 95.4%, was another converter, Wellhouse Leisure. Todds Motorhomes in Lancashire secured third with 91.5%.
In the used motorhomes division for supplying dealers, it’s a tie – and between two companies on the south coast!
Incredibly, both Dolphin Motorhomes, based in Hampshire and Dorset, and Meridian Motorhomes in Bosham, West Sussex, were awarded with glittering, clean-sheet scores of 100%. Many congratulations to them and to all our winners.
About the awards
Launched in 2004, Practical Motorhome’s Owner Satisfaction Awards exists to help motorcaravanners buy better and to give you all the chance to have your say, encouraging industry-wide improvements.
This year we’ve worked with a new partner, The Camping and Caravanning Club, and a new sponsor, Club Care Insurance.
These are the awards you can trust. The results are compiled entirely from votes submitted by Practical Motorhome readers and Camping and Caravanning Club members – in other words, real motorcaravanners.
Don’t agree with the results? Then make sure you have your say in next year’s survey!
You can read in-depth analysis of the results of our Owner Satisfaction Awards 2017 for new motorhomes and dealers in the April 2017 issue of Practical Motorhome, on sale Thursday 9 February.
And full details of our pre-owned winners, both manufacturers and dealers, will be published in our May 2017 magazine, available from Thursday 9 March.
