A new campervan range backed by someone with a long track record in the motorhome industry is being shown for the first time at the February NEC Show this week.

Nottinghamshire-based Aura is part-owned by Mike Lake, who for many years was UK distributor for Knaus and Weinsberg and other brands before that.

Aura has already produced a five-model range, all two-berths coming one of the best vans for a camper conversion, the Citroën Relay, and ranging in price from £75,377 to £77,777.

The largest and most expensive of them, the 7EL with a U-shaped rear lounge, is on display at the Beez Leisure stand. Norfolk-based Beez is also the brand’s first dealer.

Other models in the range include the 6EL, with the same U-shaped lounge at the 7EL only 5.99m long rather than 6.36m. The 5EK and 6EK are two end kitchen models (5.41m long and 5.99m long respectively) with a side facing settee and one extra travel seat. The 5.99m-long 6EB, with a transverse bed at the back and a half dinette with two extra travel seats up front, completes the range.

Innovations in the 7EL include a special cubbyhole for the TV, which hides away any cables, while you can remove the back panel of the U-shaped lounge to allow large items to be loaded into the van from the back.

The side washroom also includes a separate shower cubicle, although unusually the basin is inside here as well.

Remis blinds on the windows are only an option.

Mike Lake also plans to introduce German van conversion brand Van Tourer to the UK. While two models from this range from the 2025 season are on display at the show, the full launch is not expected to take place until this October’s Motorhome and Caravan Show.

There have been various new models to see at this week’s NEC Show, including an innovative VW-based campervan from Out and About. Escape Campers, the first UK converter to get approval from Renault UK, also had models on display, including the Crusader and the Apex.
