While using one of the best motorhome cleaners will provide you with a great way of keeping your ‘van free of dirt and grime such as algae and black smears, chances are you’ll still want to think about how you can restore its shine, especially with the new season fast approaching. That’s where having the best motorhome polish comes in.
Over time, ‘vans will start to lose their shine due to the paintwork oxidising (this is caused by the UV in the sun’s rays). That’s where a motorhome polish plays its part, correcting the oxidising and providing your motorcaravan with a glossy finish.
To help you find the best motorhome polish for you, we’re sharing our top picks, with products from brands such as Care-avan, Autoglym and Silky all featuring. Our guide to cleaning a motorhome will also explain how you can go about getting your ‘van looking its best, in time for the upcoming year of touring.

What is the best motorhome polish?
The best motorhome polish:
Autoglym Super Resin Polish
- Sizes: Available in 325ml, 500ml or 1 litre bottle, or as a kit
Autoglym’s ‘van cleaner was our winner of the best motorhome cleaner at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2023, and it’s another cleaning product from the brand that has made its way onto our polish for a motorhome guide.
Autoglym Super Resin Polish is a silicone-based wax polish that can be applied to a freshly washed ‘van, before a finishing cloth is used.
Coming in a range of sizes, we think this will be ideal for achieving a glossy, shiny motorhome. One of our favourite things about it is how simple to use and buff off it is, also allowing you to get rid of any light scuffs and dull patches.
As well as that, the Super Resin Polish is a four time winner of Detailing World’s Polish of the Year award, a UK-based forum for professional car finishers.
Meguiar’s High Gloss Polish
- Sizes: 454g
If you’re after a high gloss polish that should give your motorhome a shiny finish, this option from Meguiar’s could be the one for you. The brand has advised that it works especially well on darker shades.
Okay, we know it’s a more expensive option compared to some of the other entries on our guide, but what this gets you is an effective product that comes with polishing oils to help to create a nourished finish for your ‘van.
- Sizes: 500ml
Apply Silky Fineshine to a motorhome that has already been buffed and you’ll achieve a sparkling finish and a ‘van that is ready to be waxed. You have a choice of either applying it by hand with a pad or alternatively, use a rotary polishing machine – which ever option you go for, the end result will be a glossy motorhome.
MER Ultimate Shine Polish
- Sizes: 500ml, 1 litre
If you think your motorhome’s paintwork is looking dull, the MER Ultimate Shine polish could be the product you need to restore it to its former glory. We’re fans of how it can help you remove any micro-scratches from your motorhome’s exterior, due to the mild abrasives that are included in it.
Available in both 500ml and one litre bottles, this worthy addition to our best motorhome polish guide will give you protected paintwork that looks wonderfully shiny and is ready for a wax finishing product.
Care-avan Motorhome Polish
- Sizes: 500ml, 1 litre
Available in both a 500ml and a one litre bottle, Care-avan Motorhome Polish has been endorsed by motorhome manufacturer Bailey of Bristol.
As well as being easy to apply and use, this motorhome polish will help you cut down on any UV damage that could be caused to your ‘van.
It’s well suited for use on the exterior of your ‘van, working well on GRP and Gelcote surfaces.
