This jacket is made from eVent waterproof fabric, which is marketed as being highly breathable. In our test we found that it is, indeed, very breathable and as waterproof as most jackets on the market. There isn’t much in the way of ventilation, though – there are two external pockets with a fine mesh lining, but that’s it. They’re well-located if you’re wearing a rucksack – at chest-level so as to avoid interfering with the rucksack’s waist strap. There’s one small internal pocket, too.
It isn’t as lightweight and easily foldable as some, but is more comfortable than most. Its hood is a bit fiddly, although it fits well and allows a good range of head movement. Overall, the build quality is frankly stellar.
