Ray Mears has helped Worcestershire-based Offendham Touring Park and Offendham Park launch a new walking trail.
Offenham Park (a holiday park site) and Offenham Touring Park (a caravan park) are both situated in the Vale of Evesham, where they were founded by Karen and Craig Pilling.
The best motorhome sites will always offer plenty to do in the surrounding area, and now, visitors to either of the campsites will be able to enjoy the new four-mile nature walk. It follows nature reserves and local footpaths, and is publicly accessible, allowing walkers to enjoy beautiful countryside as they go.
The trail was created in an initiative which saw the two parks partner with Evesham Place Board, while Evesham Welcomes Walkers, Evesham Rambling Club and the Vale Landscape Heritage Trust were all involved in the process too.
To celebrate its launch, Ray led nearly 100 people on a three-hour walk, highlighting the wildlife along the trail.
It will not be the only natural sight for visitors to one of the parks, either. The two campsites are found on the banks of the River Avon, while they are bordered by protected countryside which includes the Windmill Hill Nature Reserve, an environment of limestone grassland which is home to wildflowers and butterflies.
Ray said: “This remarkable landscape is subtle, but incredibly rich in natural discoveries along its rivers, and through its fields and hedgerows”.
He added: “Here you very quickly feel connected to the rhythm of the countryside, and reminds us that you don’t have to travel to the far corners of the world to experience something special.”
The two campsites are still owned by the Pillings today, with sons Jack and Tom, and daughter-in-law Lauren, helping Karen and Craig.
In other recent news, tickets went on sale for the 40th Scottish Motorhome, Caravan & Holiday Home Show. The show will be held at the SEC in Glasgow from 4th-7th February 2027.
There has also been a change at the top at Knaus Tabbert, with Matjaž Grm, who previously worked as an external adviser at Adria, promoted to the executive board.
