The New Forest has been named the best National Park in Europe.

The title was awarded to the ancient forest at the 2022 Traveller’s Choice Awards, held by Trip Advisor. The New Forest came top in the ‘Outdoor Enthusiasts’ category for Europe, beating other beautiful destinations in the process, including second placed Snowdonia National Park and Italy’s Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park.

As well as being crowned the finest in Europe, the New Forest was also named the tenth best in the world, beating famous places including Banff National Park in Alberta and the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. Snowdonia finished hot on the New Forest’s heels, in 11th place. You can find the full list here.
