Brits have already started thinking about their 2022 family holiday destinations, research has found, with Cornwall revealed to be the spot that most want to visit.

The study, carried out by Park Leisure, also showed that family holidays are becoming an increasingly popular option, with over a third of Brits planning to go away with their grandchildren or grandparents next year.

The recent turn in the weather seems to have made Brits think about their 2022 holiday plans, and Cornwall seems to be the number one place to visit, with 49% saying it is their preferred place to go.

Being near to the seaside clearly factored in, with Devon coming in second, with 43% of Brits considering. The Lake District rounded up the top three, with 33% picking it as an option.

The ten UK destinations for 2022 whole family holidays are:

1) Cornwall – 49%
2) Devon – 43%
3) Lake District – 33%
4) London – 25%
5) Yorkshire Dales – 24%
6) North Wales – 20%
7) Scottish Highlands – 20%
8) Whitby – 18%
9) Norfolk Broads – 18%
10) Dorset – 17%

Lisa Williams, director of marketing and holiday sales at Park Leisure, said: “We’ve all spent so much time away from our families over the last year that it’s no wonder Brits are desperate to spend some quality time with their grandparents and grandchildren.”

“Almost a third of people said they don’t see their extended family as often as they’d like and multi-generational holidays are the perfect remedy for that, allowing everyone to catch up and really bond.”
