Pinecones Caravan and Camping offers a peaceful setting and an ideally situated base for exploring Norfolk. Sandringham House is only a short drive away, while the picturesque beaches of Snettisham and Holkham can both be found nearby too.

A variety of pitches can be chosen from, including luxury pitches, which come with heated picnic huts. Hedging also provides privacy.

The campsite hires out bicycles, so guests can take to two wheels to explore the surrounding area. There’s also the option of using the bus service which stops nearby too.

Individual bathrooms with a shower, toilet, basin, hooks and seating are provided onsite, while a laundry room, free Wi-Fi, an indoor dishwashing area, EV charging and a woodland adventure play area for kids are available.

There’s a pub 800 yards from the entrance – and don’t miss the fish-andchip van that visits on Fridays!

Fen Farm has a David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award in recognition of its environmental efforts, and the park is planning to plant more trees and wildflower areas this year. Keep your eyes peeled for the birds that inhabit the island too. Facilities include toilets, showers and a laundry room, while the site also offers seasonal pitches.

Grooby’s Pit

The park is set in eight acres, with facilities that include a dog-exercise area, four modern toilet and shower blocks, fresh water points and a launderette. Guests can embark on the 1.5-mile walk around the farm – a route furnished with seats for stopping to take in the view

Set in three acres of fenland country in the north-east of Boston, this adults-only site allows visitors to escape the bustle of everyday life.

There is a heated shower block, a secure dog-exercise area and an indoor dishwashing area. The Wi-Fi has been upgraded for 2023, and a new drive-over drain has been added to the motorhome-service point for easier grey-water disposal.

There is plenty to do, with Lincoln and Skegness both within driving distance. Two RSPB reserves, Freiston Shore and Frampton Marshes, are in the area too, as is Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve.

Site facilities include a shop, laundry room and washrooms, with an adults-only section. There is also a delightful wildlife pond (the park has won Gold David Bellamy Conservation and Honey Bee Friendly Park awards). Barney’s Bar is open during the week, serving a range of local gins and ales, along with a selection of takeaway food.

The market town of North Walsham is a 20-minute walk or a five-minute drive away, while Cromer, Sheringham and Great Yarmouth, plus the Broads themselves, are all in the surrounding area. The site has been revamping its reception and shop to offer local Norfolk produce too.
