It's that time of year again ... what are you going to do with your ’van? Let us know! This winter, will you tour or store – or are you not sure?

Spain to get some winter sun. Have done this for the last four winter and we are planning to stay longer this time and maybe get a bit further south than we have on the previous other trips.

Hi Joe,
Do you have a favourite site ?
Also, what's the weather like in Jan/Feb in Spain ?

We continue to use our motorhome as much as possible in the UK during the winter months and have just returned from a week in Herefordshire. Our van is winterised and we have not yet had any major issues in winter touring for over nine years now.

We do not have what you could call a favourite site but we do like Bonterra Park in Benicassim and Villa Nova Park staying mainly for a maximum of 2 weeks at any one site. Have wild camped as well as using sites going inland for a bit of variety, liked the area around Olot its volcanic so different to the normal costas.
The weather we have had in late December early January has been ok that is no or little rain and day time you only need shorts tee shirt plus thin jumper not a coat in the main. Gets colder after about 4.00pm but by then we are usually back in the van for the night. The further south you go the higher the temperature becomes but we so far have only managed to get down to just past Valencia.

Ask me again NEXT winter, when I'm retired and we're living in France.
This time, we'll only manage a night at Bury St Ed's for the Christmas market (Fri 25th - anyone else going?).
Oh, and a week at Les Sables d'Olonne in February, tying up some loose ends before we move there in May.

Not come across the expats yet Paul, but yes, we've already made friends with the people in the little Baptist church there. Preached my first sermon in French when we went in September - and they seemed to understand me!

And we'll welcome visitors - there's a decent Aire just a 5 minute walk from our flat!
