MAJESTIC IS THE name given to the special-edition motorhomes sold by Marquis Leisure, the UK’s largest motorhome dealer network. They are based on Elddis’s three motorhome ranges – Autoquest, Accordo and Encore – although, as you might expect, being special editions, they come with all sorts of goodies as standard.

Exclusive upholstery bearing the Majestic name is just one of many extras included as standard

These include first and foremost a more powerful Peugeot Boxer engine – 160bhp, compared with the 140bhp that comes as standard. Then there’s also cab air conditioning and cruise control, a solar panel, touchscreen DAB radio, a rearview camera, and external barbecue and shower points. Plus you get one year’s free insurance, and, of course, exclusive upholstery bearing the Majestic name.

Marquis now has 13 branches across the country, its most recent acquisition being Marquis Exeter.

Majestic: A quick history

Majestic is a suitably fitting name for a range supplied by a company called Marquis. The dealership network grew out of one depot in Hampshire, and has since become the largest motorhome dealer network in the country, selling both motorhomes and caravans, but with more focus on the former.

Alongside its own exclusive Majestic range, it also has exclusivity on two Continental brands that it imports – Spanish Benimar, including Benivan van conversions, and Italian A-class producer Mobilvetta. That’s partly because both of those brands are in the Trigano Group, which is Marquis’s ultimate parent company.
