MAJESTIC IS THE name of the special edition motorhomes Marquis Leisure offers, based on all three of Elddis’s low-profile coachbuilt ranges – the Autoquest, Accordo and Encore.

These best-selling special editions come with all sorts of extra goodies included in the price – starting with a much more powerful engine.

All Majestic models run on Peugeot’s 165bhp engine, compared with the 140bhp that comes with the standard Elddis model.

Then you also get cab air-con and cruise control, heated cab seats, a solar panel, touchscreen DAB radio, a rear-view camera, external BBQ and shower points, one year’s free insurance, and exclusive upholstery bearing the Majestic name.

Exclusive upholstery bearing the Majestic name is just one of many extras included as standard

With all the range based on Elddis, this means that for 2021 you can go for the Majestic Coachbuilt 150. This four-berth layout manages to include a rear island bed in a length that is just 7.33m. Unusually for such a layout, the concertina partition sections off the front of the ‘van, leaving the kitchen and rear bedroom accessible from the door. So, with that external BBQ point put to use for an evening’s al fresco dining, you can send the children to bed, having made up the front bed, and rest assured that you can still pop in later to get wine from the fridge and then finally to call it a night without disturbing them.

Buying direct from Marquis also means you have access to the largest motorhome dealer network in the country, with 13 sites. So you are never very far away if anything goes wrong.

Majestic: A quick history

Majestic is a suitably fitting name for a range supplied by a company called Marquis. The dealership network grew out of one depot in Hampshire, and has since become the largest motorhome dealer network in the country, selling both motorhomes and caravans, but with more focus on the former.

Alongside its own exclusive Majestic range, it also has exclusivity on two Continental brands that it imports – Spanish Benimar, including Benivan van conversions, and Italian A-class producer Mobilvetta. That’s partly because both of those brands are in the Trigano Group, which is Marquis’s ultimate parent company.
