Think Flex for ‘flexibility’; think ‘sideways’, too, because this is a drive-away awning that’s more akin to a tunnel tent running parallel to your motorhome.

The front door can be adjacent to the bonnet of your vehicle, or you can move the door panel back to create a porch area that you can leave open, or add a solid, zip-in front door, a mesh panel, or even a canopy (there’s a choice of two styles).

The T5 Kombi Flex is a one-size-fits-all unit designed to suit awning rails between 180cm and 240cm from the ground. Its most obvious role is to provide extra space alongside a campervan, but it will also complement a coachbuilt.

The Movelite range starts with the T2 – the T5 is the largest model. It really is a biggie, with Outdoor Revolution offering bedroom options to sleep up to six adults!

This is an awning that means business. It uses inflatable technology and, like its rivals, there’s no danger of over-inflation (thanks to the Intelligent Frame Relief Valve), yet it’s simplicity itself to put up and take down.

The Kombi Flex comes in a double Ripstop fabric that’s incredibly strong, as well as lightweight and UV-resistant thanks to protection reckoned to be up to three times more effective than any untreated fabric.

It lives up to its name with regard to its ability to withstand potential tearing, too, thanks to the visible threads woven criss-cross throughout the material. It’s a higher density than that used on previous T5 Kombis, too.

A sewn-in groundsheet is fitted, offering superior protection (including against creepy-crawlies, if you’re squeamish) and keeping out unwanted draughts.

Overhead, the lighter colour of the roof reflects the daytime heat. The windows are tinted and come with embossed zip-in curtains, plus there’s Phoenix mesh along the sides. Again, this is a type of fabric that’s less prone to snagging than cheaper variants.

Inner units are optional, but Outdoor Revolution says that everyone who buys this drive-away awning also purchases two- and/or four-person bedrooms in some combination.
