Verdict
This ’van scored highly on our test. We’re fans of the Renault Master base vehicle and the automatic transmission is a big plus on this model. We also loved the C647’s great kitchen and ‘young’, aesthetic decor. We say move up to a Mooveo.
Pros
Well-proven base vehicle; auto transmission option; great kitchen; appealing decor
Cons
Featureless rear panel
Living
The Mooveo features a half-dinette, swivelled cab seats and an inward-facing settee.
Kitchen
The C647 is equipped with a decent amount of workspace, a high level of standard equipment and the fridge, hob and sink are thoughtfully positioned.
Mooveo has favoured Thetford over Dometic for its C647’s refrigerator, and although it is not the largest at 97 litres, we like the internal layout. The Thetford fridge also has an automatic energy selection function and is raised off the floor for easier retrieval of the contents.
Washroom
There’s a separate showering area, a moulded vanity bowl with a cupboard underneath and a separate mixer tap for the shower. The shower curtain was clingy, but the open design of the Mooveo’s washroom makes it feel the most spacious of all; the modern, light-green cupboard doors are aesthetically pleasing.
Beds
The Mooveo scores points for the thoughtfully positioned nets adjacent to the bunk bed-heads, ideal for the storage of specs, magazines and the like. Disappointingly, the bunk bed ladder was very uncomfortable for bare feet.
Storage
High-level lockers combine with underseat storage and a garage space underneath the lower bunk bed. The gas cylinder locker holds two x 13kg cylinders.
The elegant, practical, coat hooks, various cubby holes and the superior kitchen storage give it a distinct advantage over most rivals.
