Verdict
Island-bed motorhomes of this length are common in the portfolios of Continental brands.
With its boosted spec, the Adria Coral 690 SC Platinum is priced in the middle of what’s on offer, but its modern interior and top build quality will seal the deal for many.

Cons
The third berth is quite small
Adria’s Platinum range follows last season’s Silver Collection, a select group of bestselling models that came with silver sides and a goody bag of extras.
This year the Platinum moniker applies to two popular models: the Matrix 670 SL, with a curved roof, and the Coral 690 SC, a 7.38m-long island-bed low-profile model, on test here.
Goodies on the outside include a panoramic window, a step by the door and those silver sides.
The latter feature makes it stand out on the road, but we also like the “trompe-l’œil” on the back of the ’van: grey shading that has been painted to look like moulding.
Integrated lights give the outside a sense of class and there are large doors to the garage at the other end.
The huge rear garage has two doors so will be ideal for bikes
Living
British-market models get an L-shaped seat in the front dinette, which includes two fully belted travel seats. There’s also a side seat on the opposite wall.
There is room for four or more around the pedestal table, even if the table itself can only serve four.
It slides in both directions, so diners can squeeze in and out when meals are served.
A button at the base of the pedestal is used to depress the table for making a bed base.
A huge sunroof and smaller rooflight behind it let in plenty of light. As they are both encased in a panel that includes three LED lights, there should be good evening illumination. An LED light shines on the side seat, while both cab seats have spotlights.
The lounge looks modern, with voile blinds, false curtains, and clean and bright ‘Mexico’ soft furnishings.
Kitchen
The area by the kitchen is welcoming, with two vents providing heating from the Truma Combi 4kW system.
The central nearside kitchen in the Adria Coral 690 SC Platinum is L-shaped, with an in-line three-burner hob, and a trapezoid sink facing the dinette.
The splashback to the hob covers the window as well as the partition wall.
There’s a mains socket in the corner, and a rack for sponges and detergents.
A shallow locker under the Thetford Duplex oven with grill accesses the gas taps.
Beneath the sink are three drawers for pots and pans. Up above are two well-sized overhead lockers, one with shelves.
A 141-litre three-way Thetford fridge with a locker above it is located across the gangway.
Washroom
The offside washroom in this Adria motorhome includes a small washbasin with a cupboard beneath. The mirror slides across the basin and out across the clear window to reveal decent shelving and a blank socket.
Across the aisle, the shower has a solid curved door that clips together with a small glazed panel.
It has racks for shampoos and shower gel, plus a hanging rail under the rooflight. The wheel arch intrudes in the space and there is only one drain hole.
Beds
This motorhome has three berths. To make up the third bed, in the lounge, pull out a platform beneath the side seat, drop the pedestal table and add an infill cushion – it’s probably only suitable for a child or small teenager.
The island bed is the main attraction, though. There are two shaded lights over its headboard, both switched, and a mains socket.
There are also bedside tables on each side in front of two wardrobes. Two heating vents keep the area warm.
Storage
The huge rear garage has two doors so will be ideal for bikes – it can also be accessed via the bed base.
The overhead lockers in the front lounge and bedroom of this Adria motorhome are all of a good size.
As well as a half-height wardrobe, the bedroom has a smaller cupboard and a large drawer at the foot of the bed.
