This stylish inflatable awning looks good, will fit most rails and offers some excellent design innovations and optional extras
The E-Sports from Outdoor Revolution carry on where the Sport-Airs left off, and offer even more for your money. This XL variant fits awning channels some 265-280cm from ground level. Also available are the L (250-265cm) and standard (235-250cm) models.
All models in the range come with pre-attached 4mm and 6mm beading, which should fit most rails. Dual-pitch roof design avoids any problems with opening the habitation door. There is, however, some tapering of standing room towards the front.
All models share the same spec, including Outdoor Revolution's single-point inflation system, without the usual connector pipes and so on that some might consider a bit unsightly.
Instead, there are two external valves for the main unit. The one on the left (as you look at the awning) is a patented self-release valve that helps to kick out a bit of unwanted pressure if the heat builds up, or you start to over-inflate above 6psi. The other valve, on the right, is for deflation only.
A dual-action manual pump is part of the package, as are two roof/storm bars, which attach with hook-and-loop strips as required for extra (but hardly needed) stability. A neat touch, these double up as veranda bars, for when you want to roll any of the doors part-way down during the day.
Outdoor Revolution gives E-Sports its 480HDE double ripstop fabric, which has a 6000mm hydrostatic head, reflecting its ability to cope with heavy rainfall.
As well as corner vents at each side, both side panels have full mesh screens or can be removed, and the front panels roll back.
The windows have zipped curtains in an embossed design, for more privacy, and are tinted to reflect some of the sun's heat.
Padded uprights mean the E-Sport fits to any vehicle's sides, keeping draughts out. A draught skirt is standard.
Although £899 is the official price, even Outdoor Revolution suggests you should be looking at around £679. Either way, you can add options such as the steel-poled annexe, groundsheet, and Lumi-Light LEDs.
