Wellhouse Leisure is expanding its production capacity and retail network with four new approved converters. These outfits have been authorised to convert base vehicles to Wellhouse’s specifications, and sell them directly to customers.

Wellhouse is renowned for its van conversions, which are based on Toyota and Honda base vehicles that the company imports directly from Japan. Its main West Yorkshire production site is operating at full capacity, so the company has decided to nominate these converters to meet the increasing level of demand from customers.

The four converters are Scarborough, based in North Yorkshire, Westward Ho, based in Devon, and Ystradgynlais, based near Swansea. They join Wellhouse’s Scottish representatives, Highland Campervans at Inverness. Wellhouse will supply all its agents with base vehicles and all conversions will be carried out to the same standard as those done at Wellhouse’s own facility.

David Elliot, Wellhouse Leisure’s founder and director, said:  “All the staff at these places are fully Wellhouse trained and all campervans will be identical to those built at our main factory in West Yorkshire. Plus, they’ll come with the same market-leading warranties.”

Wellhouse has had its best year of sales yet, and is looking to commemorate this with some special edition, extremely highly equipped Toyota Granvia models. There will be just 25 of these, with prices starting at £22,000, but they’re high on equipment, and will come with solar panels, TVs, leather/alcantara interiors, as well as an innovative heated seat and floor arrangement.

“Wellhouse have had a record year for sales,” David told us, “With a target of 120 units we are currently on 171 and already booked up until the third week of April 2011. We’re looking forward to another busy year.”
