Village stages 'Amazing Race' with cryptic clues...

VILLAGE EVENTS ARE GREAT if you live there, because they offer a chance to see local friends and share a cuppa, cake – or just maybe the odd beer!

Not all villages think small, though… perhaps the River Thames has flowed some City magic into Staines Village… because these event organisers are thinking really big this year!

It sounds so much fun, that we thought you might fancy popping along to watch it if you’re camping in the area in late August, 2013.

A friend of ours told us all about it: “This is not your average community event, therefore we’re thinking beyond bake sale or community dinner here! This is the Staines Village Amazing Race, the most fun-filled and exciting community event yet and we think you may be interested in what we are up to.

CRYPTIC CLUE TO START THE RACE

“At 10am on 24 August 2013, the Staines Village Amazing Race begins with cryptic clue, that sets 24 teams on a city-wide scavenger hunt, solving clues or activities to find hidden locations. The final destination brings this competitive spirit together for a post-race banquet with refreshments, camaraderie and awarding the winning team with a £1,000 prize.”

The banquet planned for the end of the day, should be free for competitors and reasonably priced for spectators.
