Those planning to tour in the south-west of England will be pleased to learn that we’ve recruited two more locations to our network in Devon and Somerset, taking our Nightstop total to 24 stopovers.
First is the Thelbridge Cross Inn, a former coaching inn dating from the 1700s. Motorhomes will be permitted to pitch up in the car park, with views across the lovely surrounding countryside. The restaurant is renowned for its daily, changing menu, which offers home-cooked, and in some cases home-grown, produce.
Address Thelbridge Cross Inn, Thelbridge, Crediton, Devon EX17 4SQ

Our next location is called Home Mead, and is set alongside the Greyhound Inn in Staple Fitzpaine; it’s on private land previously part of the pub car park. This is a peaceful, quiet hamlet; the pitching area itself is grass with gravel underneath, so should be accessible no matter what the weather. Somerset is a beautiful, relatively unexplored county, so this stop should allow motorcaravanners to make the most of what it has to offer. Note that this is a limited-facility site, so you should be self-sufficient in your ‘van.
Address Home Mead, New Road (adjoining Greyhound Inn), Staple Fitzpaine, Taunton, Somerset TA3 5SP
Tel 07929 910 954 (11am-8pm – no late arrivals)
If you’d like to stay at either of these sites, you can call them between the hours listed to find out if there’s space for you; remember, all of our sites are limited to five motorhomes each night.
Remember, all of our stopover points are fully licenced by the Motor Caravanners’ Club, meaning that they’re safe, secure and – most importantly – completely legal. You don’t have to be a member of any club to use them; they’re open to all. You can find a map of all our locations by clicking here.
If you’d like to stay at any of our locations, you should contact them directly – for a full list of all our Nightstops, complete with contact numbers and other information, email us by clicking here.
