Bonfire Night is rapidly approaching, and with it comes the opportunity to take in some beautiful displays as the sky is illuminated by fireworks.
If you are unsure as to which display to go to this year, we round up some of the options on offer from around the country…

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival
When: 6th November
Where: Alexandra Palace, London
One of the most popular fireworks displays in the country can be found at Alexandra Palace. There are plenty of other activities running alongside the show, including an ice disco, a German beer festival, fire jugglers and more – plus music is provided by Trevor Nelson.

Why not take a trip to the Tower of London? While you are in the famous palace, you can pay a visit to the Crown Jewels and take a trip to the White Tower.
Sherborne Castle Fireworks Extravaganza
When: 6th November
Where: Sherborne Castle and Gardens, New Road, Sherborne, Dorset, DT9 5NR
A trip to Sherborne Castle will allow you to enjoy an eco-friendly fireworks night. The bonfire has been replaced by a stunning 25 minute pyro-musical show that has been synchronised to a soundtrack, and will be followed by the fireworks. Other activities include a bar and funfair, while hot food and drinks will be available.

Take a visit to Sherbourne Abbey. Originally founded in 705AD, the Abbey is famous for its beautiful vaulted ceiling and the Elizabethan tombs within.
Bonfire night, Plymouth
When: 5th November
Where: The Hoe, Plymouth
Heading to Plymouth Hoe will allow you to see a stunning bonfire and fireworks displays. The celebrations kick off at 4pm, when there will be fairground rides accompanied by food and drink, while the bonfire will be lit at 7:30pm – complete with a Guy Fawkes atop it. Fireworks are to follow at 8pm, which will be fired from the Royal Citadel.

Bonfire Weekend at Thornton Hall Country Park
When: 5th-6th November
Where: Thornton Hall, Thornton-in-Craven, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 3TS
A trip to Thornton Hall’s Bonfire Weekend will let you enjoy a live band, DJ, street theatre and a huge bonfire, not to mention entertainment to keep the children occupied. This is to run alongside the illuminating fireworks display that will be in sync with music, lights and special effects.

The Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway runs one hour tours of the Dales on a variety of trains from different periods, including 1890-1920 steam trains, a 1903 Autocar and 1950s steam trains. If you book online in advance, you can see the train that will be operating on the day you plan to go.
Light Up Winchester
When: 6th November
Where: Winchester
No tickets are required for this fireworks festival, which should be visible from all over the city. To make it a more immersive affair you can join the event from Facebook and watch the livestream from 6:30pm as they prepare to illuminate the sky.

Chelmsford Fireworks
When: 6th November
Where: Admiral Park, Chelmsford
Plenty of action will keep everyone occupied at Admiral Park. Alongside the fireworks, there will be live entertainment, fun rides and delicious food and drink to enjoy.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall provides beautiful greenery and blooms all year round, with the explosion of colour on offer rivalling the fireworks.
Fawkes in the Walks
When: 6th November
Where: The Walks Park, King’s Lynn
Stalls and rides will accompany the bonfire and fireworks at this event organised by the King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council. The free-to-attend display will be carried out against the backdrop of the natural beauty of The Walks Park.

Beamish Hall Fireworks Extravaganza
When: 6th November
Where: Beamish Hall, Beamish, Stanley, County Durham, DH9 0YB
The annual extravaganza at Beamish Hall has a pre-fireworks show, complete with entertainers and a DJ, alongside fairground rides. The actual display itself will be sure to light up the skies – while you wait for the event to begin, there will be hot drinks and snacks available, as well as a bar.
