Scouring the ‘motorhomes for sale’ ads? Well, so are we in our latest TV programme. Armed with a £30,000 budget, Andy Harris goes shopping for a used motorhome. He finds two ‘vans, a Bessacarr and a Hymer, both from 2007 and both with around 21,000 miles on the clock. But while the Bessacarr is based on Fiat’s Ducato, with a bed over the cab, the Ford Transit-based Hymer is a low-profile motorhome. The Hymer is also significantly shorter, by more than a metre. To find out if this difference in length is reflected in the living accommodation of these two motorhomes, and to learn why Andy is concerned about where to store his beer, watch our latest show on The Motorhome Channel.

You can also join Practical Motorhome’s Claudia Dowell as she tours Ireland. She’s exploring the Wild Atlantic Way in a lovely, blue Auto-Sleeper Kemerton XL and pitches her ‘van at Rushin House Caravan Park. Right on the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, this very well kept campsite on the banks of beautiful Lough MacNean is very mindful of its impact on the environment and is the only campsite in the UK and Ireland to have been awarded an Ecoflower by the EU Ecolabel. The campsite is one of our Top !00 Sites in the UK and even has an outdoor gym.

Claudia also pitches her Auto-Sleeper motorhome at Greenlands Caravan and Camping Park. In Rosses Point, County Sligo, this site overlooks the ocean and from most of the 100 pitches you can enjoy breathtaking views. Smart, well maintained and with good facilities including a colourful children’s play area, it’s a lovely campsite.

Then Andy Harris is back, testing a sat-nav designed specifically for motorcaravanners that shows many campsites. With the Snooper sat-nav, you can also enter your motorhome’s vital statistics to ensure you’re not taken down roads unsuitable for your ‘van. To see how he gets on, watch The Motorhome Channel on Sky 192 and Freesat 402, or live online, at the times listed below.

Yet that’s not all. The Bailey Approach Compact 520 is reviewed in our newest TV show, Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton casts his expert eye over this two-berth, sub six-metre ‘van. The transverse rear double bed is above the generous garage in this Peugeot Boxer-based motorhome. There are high quality touches inside such as leather upholstery and two-tone cabinets, not forgetting the Alde wet central heating. With a three-burner hob, a deep sink and a smart bathroom, this is a great motorhome for those who enjoy an active lifestyle.

Finally, it’s time to visit Henlow Bridge Lakes, a dog-friendly campsite in Bedfordshire. It has 25 hardstanding pitches and a further 30 grass pitches, all with electric hook-ups and water. There’s a handy on-site shop, showers with underfloor heating, a fun children’s play area and also four lakes. To get the full story, tune in.
