Update, Monday 22 October: the show is now over for 2012. There were 98,058 visitors over six days!
A number of stars have appeared at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the Birmingham NEC from the 16 – 21 October.
This year’s show is bigger and better than ever, with representatives from more than 400 manufacturers, dealers, specialists, destinations and accessories traders across 11 halls of the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre.
See our blogs on favourite things we spot at this year’s show, here. Plus something quirky here… and bikes and maybe more blogs to come as we spot things to write home about. Plus we’ll have a show report in the January issue of Practical Motorhome magazine.
As well as launches for the 2013 models of all the major brands, there is also an Expert’s Advice Theatre. Here, all your queries can be tackled, with topics such as how to change a water pump and how to keep your tow legal. This will include a session with our very own Practical Motorhome team debating the advantages of caravanning versus motor caravanning on Saturday at 2.45pm.
Not only is the show hosting new models from all the big names in the industry, but it is also bringing the lifestyle to the fore.
There are cooking demonstrations from Paul Hollywood, a baker and celebrity chef, and Matt Dawson MBE, winner of Celebrity MasterChef and former rugby player for England.

Matt Dawson takes his turn in the Cookery Theatre on Saturday 20 October, wowing visitors with a triple helping of live culinary genius, coupled with his usual witty banter.
More foodie demonstrations will come from MasterChef runner-up Claire Hutchings, as part of “Calorvan’s” ‘Culinary Genius Experience’, as well as camping cook Andrew Dickens on the 16, 18, 19 and 21 October.

The Motorhome and Caravan show has also grabbed the attention of Eighties icon Catherine Bach, who played Daisy Duke in “The Dukes of Hazzard”.
As an experienced motorcaravanner, Catherine officially opened the show from the Caravan Club Lounge on Tuesday 16 October, before joining in the Club Day celebrations. (Read more about Catherine here.)

Outdoor enthusiast Julia Bradbury also attended on Tuesday 16 October and announced the winners of “The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Real Richness Awards”.
These awards recognise people who have enriched the lives of their family, friends and communities through acts that show ‘family togetherness’, ‘work-life balance’, ‘sense of community’ and ‘freedom’.
