Motorhomes have inspired countless families over the generations – but these days, young families and couples have it tougher than ever, with long work hours to endure and little chance to escape the rat race.

They need a motorhome that’s both light on the pocket and allows them put the 9-to-5 day behind them as they spend time together in comfort – and in style, too.

The brilliant new Edge

That’s where the new, double-award-winning Edge from leading leisure manufacturer Swift comes in.

It’s a brand-new, entry-level range that’s just been launched for the 2020 season ahead; featuring five layouts, there’s something for everyone here – whether you’re looking for your first motorhome, or are an experienced motorcaravanner.

Layouts range from the front-lounge floorplan of the two-berth Edge 412 – the smallest model in the family – up to the six-berth, family-friendly Edge 486; in fact, the latter has just won Practical Motorhome’s Best Family Motorhome 2020 award. The 494, meanwhile, won Practical Motorhome‘s Best Budget Motorhome 2020 award.

Three are high-line models, too, giving occupants that little bit more space to relax.

Something for everyone

No matter which model you choose from, you’ll find everything you need – especially if you’re new to motorcaravanning.

For starters, all standard models have an MTPLM of 3500kg, so no special driving licence is needed. They look great, too, with an aerodynamic exterior profile featuring orange mountain graphics – you and your ‘van will certainly stand out on-site.

The roomy, welcoming interiors – which are all practically designed to withstand the rigours of family life – have high-quality fixture and fittings, while the kitchen is perfect for cooking up a storm: there’s a Dometic 8-series fridge, an oven and a three-burner gas hob and grill.

All the kit you need

There’s no need to use a campsite’s facilities, either – the washroom in each Edge has a sink, toilet, shower and vanity unit, while you’ll sleep brilliantly at night thanks to the lightweight memory-foam Duvalay mattresses on fixed beds.

What’s more, you’ll be able to travel in comfort no matter what time of year you go: the Truma dual-fuel blown-air heating system will keep you safe and warm.

You can even make use of Swift’s clever Command control panel or app, which enables you to manage the vehicle systems while you’re away from the ‘van.

You’ll also benefit from Swift’s SMART construction method, the UK’s leading modern construction system – meaning true peace of mind for the years ahead, no matter where you go in your new motorhome. There’s a fantastic 10-year manufacturer bodyshell warranty, too.

So much for your money

You might think that all this would come at a high price, but you’d be wrong – this is Swift’s most affordable coachbuilt range, with prices starting at less than £50K.

There’s one thing for sure: with the new Edge, Swift is all set to inspire a whole new generation.
