Don’t miss this week’s episode of Practical Motorhome TV, because it is the final show in series one! Packed with motorcaravanning goodness to inspire and inform, you can’t afford to miss it.

So make sure you tune in to Practical Motorhome TV on Showcase. You’ll find our channel on Sky 212 and on Freeview 254 (you’ll need a smart TV for the latter), or watch every episode live online. This show will be on at these times, on these days:

  • 8.30pm on Monday 23 May;
  • 5.30pm on Wednesday 25 May;
  • 7.30pm on Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May 2016.

Now, nothing shouts touring comfort and refinement quite like an A-class, and this week’s show kicks off with a review of a very impressive example, the Rapido 8066df – and with a 3500kg MTPLM, anyone with a normal driving licence can enjoy what this four-berth ’van has to offer.

Inside, the leather-trimmed lounge (this upholstery is a £1900 upgrade) is a fabulous place in which to spend time and while the midships kitchen isn’t huge, it is fitted with an oven and grill, a circular sink, three gas burners, an extractor fan, a tall fridge with a separate freezer and thoughtful storage, so you’re not short-changed. In fact, storage is one area in which the Rapido 8066df excels. It has a massive rear garage, but also check out the opportunities created thanks to the double floor, which is why the letters ‘df’ feature in the model name. Tune in to discover why this is a good ’van for year-round touring, to see the spacious rear bedroom, the pull-down double bed, the split washroom and more.

Next, we’re off to Woodhall Country Park, a campsite in Lincolnshire that’s perfect for anyone who loves fishing. Settle your ’van on one of the 120 pitches then head out and drop a line into one of the site’s three lakes. Bike hire is also available here, as well as washblocks with family rooms, an area where you can exercise dogs and a playground for the kids. See all this and more, this week on Practical Motorhome TV!

Then our Editor Niall Hampton takes a look at another Continental ’van, but one that’s very different from the Rapido that opened the show. The Knaus BoxLife 600 MQ is a panel van conversion with a 3300kg MTPLM that manages to pack two full-size double beds into its 5.99m length. There’s a transversely-mounted double bed across the rear of this motorhome, which can be raised to accommodate luggage, and a longitudinal, electrically-operated drop-down double over the dinette. To see what other tricks this canny panel van conversion has up its sleeve, watch this week’s show on Sky 212, Freeview 254 and live online.

After the break, Practical Motorhome’s expert Diamond Dave is back to impart more advice in the final show of this series. This time, the topic is habitation inspections. He shows us what this involves and why it is crucial to ensure safe, happy touring.

This is followed by a ’van that could be the one for you if you want a slice of touring luxury but don’t have a massive driveway. At just 5.99m long, the Marquis Majestic 125 is a coachbuilt with the footprint of a van conversion. This dealer special take on the Elddis Accordo 125 adds yet more sparkle to this popular formula, with details including a silver cab and a wind-out canopy awning. There’s also a handy, top-hinged hatch on the rear panel which gives access to a super storage space.

Inside, you’ll want for nothing in the midships galley, while with two extra belted travel seats you can carry four in the day, although only sleep three at night. The cab is handsomely specced and despite being a compact motorhome, there’s a good, multi-function washroom. Watch our Marquis Majestic 125 review on Practical Motorhome TV, on Sky 212, Freeview 254 or live online and see it for yourself.

Finally, we are back in Lincolnshire, checking out another campsite. Walnut Lakes Caravan Park is an adults-only site set over 10 acres. Again, it’s a great place to stay if you love angling and with well-spaced pitches it never feels overcrowded. Find out more in this week’s show.

Thanks for watching! We hope you’ve enjoyed our début series of Practical Motorhome TV. Filming has already begun for series two, so we will be back before you know it!
