The National Motorhome Show in Peterborough this weekend was fairly busy, despite the drought-breaking deluge. Showground workers strewed straw liberally around the motorhome stands and visitors were heard to mutter ‘It’s only April showers…’ with true British grit.
The entrance foyer boasted a display of award-winning motorhomes, from the CMC Reimo Multi-Style LWB campervan, in fetching blue, to the impressive Laika Kreos. In the middle were the Adria Coral S and the Tribute T-725 – two coachbuilts that are as easy to drive as a camper, but with more creature comforts on board.
It was worth stepping out of the showground’s main building into the rain, because here were large displays of motorhomes. Exhibitors included: Brownhills, Lowdhams, Emmbee, Geoff Cox, Glossop, Horizons Leisiure Vehicles, Middlesex Motorcaravans, Murvi, CMC Leisure, Cleveland Motorhomes, Marquis, Bilbo’s, Chelston Motorhomes, Don Amott Leisure Kingdom, East Midlands Motorhomes, Edgehill, Elite, Enfield Leisure Vans, Franks, Fuller’s, Geist, Heart of England, Leeds Leisure Vehicles, Motorhomes Ltd, Newark Caravans, Oaktree Motorhomes, Southdowns Motorcaravan Centre, Wokingham Motorhomes, Nirvana Motorhomes, Oakwell Motorhomes, Travelworld RV, Wheelhome, Tyne Valley, WildAx, Signature, Simpsons and South Yorkshire Motorhomes.
Clothing for all weathers and seasons, jewellery, delicious foods, malt whisky and all sorts of camping and motorhome accessories made up the rest of the stands, along with club stands.
Strangely, the car park and camping areas appeared busier than the stands inside the show on Friday when we visited. Perhaps the weather had something to do with that!
