Anyone upgrading to Apple’s latest iOS 6 software for the iPhone and iPod touch today will notice a few changes in its built-in apps.
Apple has replaced the Google Maps app with a new app of its own that works in much the same way. This includes turn-by-turn driving directions, but there’s no Street View feature.
Google is expected to launch a new app of its own to remedy this, but anyone who currently relies on Street View is advised to stick with iOS 5 for the time being and avoid the upgrade.
Apple has also pulled the YouTube app that’s been an iPhone feature since 2007, but Google has already remedied this. A separate free YouTube
