Hymer says that following positive feedback from suppliers it started production again last week at its factory in Bad Waldsee, only with workers having to wear face masks and be further spaced apart than they have been before.
Walking routes within the factory have also been changed, while hand sanitising procedures that were already in place before the lockdown have been continued.
Hymer says it will continue to monitor the situation, but hopes to “gradually find our way back to normality” within the coming weeks.
Hobby’s factory, at the other end of Germany in Fockbek, also reopened last week, although all staff have adopted what the company describes as an “extensive package of measures” to keep the risk of infection as low as possible.
It is not yet able to say how deliveries may have been affected by the showdown.
