JUMP ON AN Isle of Wight ferry with us and learn more about taking your motorhome for a holiday on this often peaceful island in the Solent. At just 148 square miles, this island off the Hampshire coast is ripe for exploring in your ‘van – so tune in on Sky 192 and Freesat 402 and join Andy Harris as he does just that.

Isle of Wight holidays have long been popular and so for our 20th TV programme on The Motorhome Channel, Andy Harris heads to the island in an Auto-Sleeper Kemerton to discover if it’s a motorhome-friendly holiday destination. Andy’s fulfilling a childhood dream by going to the Isle of Wight and is keen to make the most of his trip – and he might just inspire you to do the same.

Once he’s enjoyed a cup of tea aboard the Red Funnel ferry, it’s time for an ice cream on dry land before Andy takes the Auto-Sleeper motorhome to Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park. As well as, unusually, having three vintage caravans from 1971, this campsite on the Isle of Wight has two hot tubs, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor cinema, two swimming pools and it’s near the beach! Check out our TV show on Freesat 402, Sky 192 and live online to learn more about this well placed campsite.

But that’s not all. There are lots of campsites on the Isle of Wight so Andy couldn’t just visit one. See what he makes of Ninham Touring

Park. This is a quiet campsite on the outskirts of Shanklin. Family owned and run and with new shower facilities, this family-friendly site also has a heated outdoor pool and a games area.

As Andy is touring the Isle of Wight in an Auto-Sleeper Kemerton, make sure you catch this episode of our TV show to see what he thinks of it. This Peugeot Boxer based panel van has a fixed double bed which, he feels, sets it apart from other panel vans – and the bed has two positions, one for daytime and another for night time use. It is a well specced two-berth motorhome with a high quality finish and lots of windows, giving it an airy feel. Storage is good, as is the kitchen, plus this ‘van has an awning, alloy wheels, a reversing camera, cruise control and air suspension – it even comes in a range of colours. For the full Auto-Sleeper Kemerton review, don’t miss our latest TV show.

Last but not least, follow Andy’s holiday on the Isle of Wight and get inspiration from the attractions he visits. There are lots of things to do on the Isle of Wight. Andy pays a trip to Osborne House with its beautiful gardens and statues, as well as taking a ride on the island’s steam railway. He also finds out about glassmaking, visits a sweet factory and goes to Blackgang Chine – the oldest theme park in the UK – and rides the park’s most popular attraction, the chairlift, which gives stunning views of the island’s coastline. Andy had plenty to keep him entertained on his holiday on the Isle of Wight and if that’s inspired your summer touring, we’re sure you’ll have lots to keep you busy, too.
