The most exciting new motorhomes to launch this year are British, we can reveal. Never before seen motorhomes from Auto-Trail, Autocruise, Auto-Sleepers, Elddis, RS Motorhomes and an all-new coachbuilt brand, Bentley Motorhomes, will take their bow at the Caravan and Motorhome international show at Birmingham’s NEC from October 12-17.
Rarely have so many all-new British motorhomes launched at the same time. And unusually, they’ve been withheld from the press prior to launch: no images even exist of the finished products, so expectation levels are high.
We’ll see a new, super low-line mould with panoramic rooflight from Auto-Trail, which will be available on Tracker, Apache and Frontier models. From artist impressions, we can see that it does wonders for the line-up’s external looks.
The all-new Elddis Aspire luxury range, which counts Alde heating as standard among its spec list, has been a closely guarded secret. Three two-berth low-line models at launch will be the 215 (front dinette MWB), the 240 (rear dinette LWB) and 255 (fixed bed LWB).
RS Motorhomes will unveil an all-new A-Class, the RS Elysian, on a 6.5t Iveco chassis, which can be built with slide-outs on a 7t chassis. There will also be a new low-profile, the Eclipse, on Mercedes Sprinter and a new van conversion, the Equinox, also on the Sprinter chassis.
Autocruise has a new, three-model entry-level Star range. We were hugely impressed when we previewed the end kitchen Starfire in our November issue (on sale from 29 September), and now can’t wait to see the other two.
Finally, there’s the all-new Artisan range from Bentley Motorhomes, a new brand launched by Autocruise founder Derek Bentley. We took an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at production models in an early stage of build, and reported on this in our November issue. But we can’t wait to see the 3 narrow-bodied ’vans in the flesh, all low-profile coachbuilts based on the Renault Trafic.
