Google is running a sale in its Play Store for Android to celebrate 25 billion downloads.

The sale has a new selection of Android smartphone and tablet apps each day for 25p each, with a mix of games and productivity software.

Movies are also part of the sale and Android users can rent a selection titles for 99p. There’s nothing remotely recent in the selection, but many of the films are in HD. Rentals can be kept unwatched for up to 30 days and there’s a 48-hour watch window once a film has been started.

Finally, Google is also offering a number of ebooks across a range of genres in the sale, at 25p a pop. Purchases are read in the free Google Play Books app for Android and iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
